Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at EROS Clinic

1. Initial Consultation
- All new patients undergo a detailed history-taking and assessment, including medical, sexual, psychological, and relational aspects.
- Relevant screening tools and questionnaires may be used for structured evaluation.
- Patients are assured of strict confidentiality from the first point of contact.
2. Investigations and Diagnosis
- Only clinically indicated investigations are advised — including hormonal panels, imaging, or psychological assessments.
- Tests such as Penile Doppler are recommended only when necessary and performed at our partner scan centers under medical supervision.
3. Multidisciplinary Input (When Needed)
- Depending on the complexity of the case, appropriate referrals are made to gynecologists, urologists, psychiatrists, dermatologists, or psychologists — all carefully chosen collaborators familiar with sexual medicine care.
- The patient remains under the primary care of the endocrinologist, ensuring consistency and coordination.
4. Evidence-Based Treatment
- All treatment follows internationally accepted guidelines (e.g., ISSM, WPATH, EAU, Endocrine Society).
- This may include hormonal therapy, medications, counseling, lifestyle advice, or procedural referrals.
5. Follow-Up & Ongoing Support
- Regular follow-ups are scheduled based on clinical needs.
- Patients are educated on what to expect from treatment and encouraged to share feedback.
- For transgender patients, hormone therapy is monitored closely with full support from our Affirma initiative.
6. Privacy, Consent & Documentation
- Informed consent is obtained before any treatment or procedure.
- All records are maintained confidentially in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.
- Identity and gender preferences are always respected in communication and documentation.
